Get a breath of fresh air or enjoy the sun on the wide sandy beach of Dishoek. From the beach, you can see large ocean-going vessels sailing right along the coastline, a unique sight! Dishoek beach has the international Blue Flag award. The bathing water is therefore of excellent quality and the sandy beach is kept very clean.

Walk through the dunes of Dishoek past the two recognisable striped lighthouses of Kaapduinen. From the dunes, you have beautiful views over the beach and the North Sea. Can you spot the ships in the distance?

Charming city filled with history

You can go on a pleasant stroll in Veere. Old streets, stately trading houses, the Grote Kerk and the famous Town Hall: Veere was once a mighty trading city. The richly laden ships have since given way to yachts, and is a charming place where tourists love to come. A city stroll over the old city walls is an experience all by itself. In the centre, you'll find quaint shops and cosy restaurants. The various ports of Veere are also a good starting point for exploring Lake Veerse.

An oasis for water sports lovers

Lake Veerse is a paradise for water sport lovers. Surfing, canoeing, sailing, water skiing, diving or swimming: it's all possible. Choose one of the marinas as a starting point, or head to a beach with lawn on a hot summer day. Countless uninhabited islands await discovery on Lake Veerse. Mooring on one of the many landing stages is highly recommended. Many of the nature reserves in or around Lake Veerse can be discovered on their own. Tip: don't forget your binoculars, there are lots of birds to spot!

Visit the Oesterij

Ever since 1906, the Oesterij has been active in cultivating shellfish and molluscs. With breeding grounds in the Oosterschelde, Lake Grevelingen and the Wadden Sea, they pull out every day to harvest that brine bliss. They are happy to share this passion with you. At the historic terrain at the Havendijk 12 in Yerseke, you can take a look in the kitchen of this company. Here you can witness how this industry works and, of course, enjoy the fresh products to your heart’s content in the Tasting.

City by the sea

Stroll along the 2-kilometre-long promenade along the North Sea. Catch a film at CineCity cinema, visit the Zeeuws Maritiem muZEEum or discover Flushing with the Zonnetrein. After a fun day in town, enjoy dinner at one of the many cafés and restaurants along the promenade, with a view of the sea.

Perfect to explore by bicycle or hiking!

The Oosterschelde is the biggest and wettest national park of the Netherlands. It is a world of the tides, wind and especially water. Lots and lots of water. Hiking through this unique sea inlet can be combined with a ferry crossing in summer.
