Lively coastal village

Visit the lively coastal village of Renesse, packed with sunny terraces, cosy shops and numerous restaurants and cafés. Events for young and old are organised during the summer months.

You can spend hours on the 17-kilometre-long sandy beach of Renesse. Get a breath of fresh air during a walk, build sandcastles with the kids or read a relaxing book in the warm sunshine. After a wonderful day on the beach, you can enjoy a snack and a drink at one of the many beach bars. Renesse beach has the international Blue Flag environmental award. The bathing water is of excellent quality and the beach is kept very clean.

Where everything is about water sports

Fancy a day of action on and in the water? Then Brouwersdam is the place to be! Here you can find windsurfing, sailing and many more water sports activities. No experience? No problem; you can also take lessons.

How were children taught?

In this authentic school building from 1845, many generations enjoyed Burgh’s education. In the old classroom, on the playground and in the herb garden you go back in time a 100 years. Behind the showcases are several original attributes the students and teachers previously used during the lessons.

For bird lovers and/or birdwatchers Plan Tureluur is a site not to be missed! Thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of waders, seagulls, geese and ducks close together in a wonderful brackish marsh. It is not for nothing that the south coast of Schouwen is also called Zeeland’s bird boulevard.

Spectacular ride on Brouwersdam

A ramp of nearly 8 meters high with three slides and a landing that guarantees a refreshing dip in the Grevelingenmeer ... With the special Sunset Water Jump Clinic you can even enjoy the sunset while jumping.

Have a great day out at Kinderboerderij De Punt

At Kinderboerderij De Punt can admire and pet all kinds of animals. There are a special hugging stables where you can cuddle with guinea pigs and rabbits. In need of a snack and a drink? You can make yourself comfortable in the lunchroom next to the petting zoo while the children play some more in the adjacent playground.

A photogenic place!

Museumhaven Zeeland is a museum at two locations. Outside, in the old medieval harbour of Zierikzee, you can view a beautiful fleet of ships up close. The indoor location offers ships that are being restored.

A wave pool that makes a splash!

Roompot Beach Resort offers a wide range of swimming facilities that can be enjoyed by guests of all ages, regardless of the weather.The swimming paradise has a wave pool a where you can spend hours floating on the rising and falling waves. There is also a paddling pool specially for children. A special attraction is the giant water slide (63 metres long!) which will guarantee you and your children hours of exhilarating runs on the slide that end with big splashes in the water! The swimming paradise also has an outdoor pool if you prefer to swim in the open air and enjoy the sunshine.

Water sports for everyone

Want to go enjoy the beautiful Grevelingenmeer from the water? At Aquavitesse you can rent a canoe or a sup, among other things. Bring your sandwiches and have a pleasant picnic along the way on one of the many islands. Fun for everyone!

Take a journey through the island history!

The museum consists of an old village shop, a fire department station and a period room. The collection includes earthenware, farming and fishing gear, funerary hatchments, paintings and so on. The museum is located in seven gabled houses from the seventeenth century, which are interlinked on the inside.

History comes alive ...

Go together on adventure millions of years back in history! To the time of the dinosaurs and the last Ice Age. Here you'll come face to face with a life-size mammoth, cave bear or, sable-toothed tiger. Outside the park you can experience a journey through time as well, by searching for fossils. You'll feel what it's like to be a real scientist.
