Close to "De Slikken van Flakkee", you will find Golfbaan Catharinenburg. Catharinenburg includes an 18-hole par-72 golf course, an 18-hole par-3 course and a lesson and practice area. The par-3 course is accessible to everyone, the 18-hole course is only accessible if you have a golf proficiency certificate. The golf course is open 7 days a week and reservation is not required.

During a visit to Faunapark Flakkee you can spot more than just animals. Learn all about the importance of biodiversity and our role in it. In addition to the caged animals, view native animals with the green heart route.

The museum consists of an old village shop, a fire department station and a period room. The collection includes earthenware, farming and fishing gear, funerary hatchments, paintings and so on. The museum is located in seven gabled houses from the seventeenth century, which are interlinked on the inside.

From bucket to fire engine

What to do in case of fire? In Amsterdam they had come up with a solution in 1413 already: 'Shout out loud the words Fire, Fire, Fire!' The city had over 12,000 buckets at its disposal. You can discover many more facts in the National Fire Brigade Museum, which has a unique collection of fire fighting equipment from around 1550 to date.

Cultural-historical heritage in operation

You can also watch a video about the Dry Dock, which takes approximately 15 minutes. The visitor center is located in the new work shed.
