The park is completed by the two restaurants, the playground, the shop and the lighthouse-picnic field.

You can easily spend an entire day in Family Amusement Park Drievliet. Cycle through the air in the Interactive Time-machine, make a 12 m free fall in the Chute or visit the Ghost Museum.... With 4 categories of attractions there is always something for the young as well as the old. Be sure not to miss the spectacular shows!

Learn kitesurfing!

Do you feel like an active day, ready to discover a new passion? Then take a kitesurfing lesson at BLOW Kitesurfschool. You can follow introduction classes, and complete courses. Children from the age of 9 can also learn kitesurfing. Kitesurfing lessons take place on the flat and shallow water of the Zandmotor, the perfect place to master kitesurfing. The team of certified instructors is eager to give you an unforgettable day. BLOW is open 7 days a week, and has a surf shop, changing rooms, hot showers and a restaurant where you can enjoy fresh pizzas straight from the wood oven. In short: the perfect place to start your kitesurfing career!

Buy local produce to take back home. Or combine a walk on the beach with snacks and drinks (to go). You can, at the Daily Taste food court in Nieuw Kijkduin. Nice: you have 1.5 hours free parking in the underground parking garage.

Maurits Cornelis Escher's artworks are so well designed, you can stare at them for hours. The artist's most famous paintings can be admired at Escher's Het Paleis, together with an ever-changing selection of his lesser-known creations. A special film about the life and work of the graphic artist can also be seen, and the museum organizes a temporary exhibition a number of times a year about art that can be related to M.C. Escher. On the second floor, you learn to look through Escher's eyes in an interactive exhibition. Puzzle with your eyes, discover with your hands, and become part of Escher's experience. In addition to the beautiful art of M.C. Escher, you can also admire the palace's royal past. Behind the name there is a second surprise: the museum building has long been in the possession of the Dutch Royal Family. The museum café is located in Queen Emma's former kitchen.

Elvis Presley's Cadillac Fleetwood or James Bond's Aston Martin?

The Louwman Museum is where you will find the world's oldest private collection of motorcars, accumulated by two generations of the Louwman family. Connoisseurs deem it one of the most stunning collections in the world. The King of Rock's Cadillac Fleetwood, James Bond's Aston Martin and cars that belonged to Steve McQueen and Sir Winston Churchill are just a few of the beautiful vehicles for you to admire here.

This is where archaeology comes to life

The National Museum of Antiquities is the national centre for archaeology, allowing young and old to enjoy civilizations from ancient Egypt, the ancient near east, the Greek and Roman world and the early Netherlands.

The green heart of Leiden

Take a quiet walk through the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands. Hortus Leiden was built in 1590 and has often been expanded since then. The many special plants and flowers are kept in different greenhouses and gardens. For example, there is a garden full of Chinese herbs in the Clusius garden which was built in 1594, and that can be admired since 2015. A visit to the Hortus is a wonderful experience, with children too. There are lots of fun treasure hunts, for example along the crazy collection of carnivorous plants!
