Within a few steps, you're at the flood line. Wet your feet, take a refreshing dip or look for shells. The beach houses are complete with a bathroom and a kitchen. Don't feel like cooking? Take a seat at Strandpaviljoen De Kust. That's also the right spot for breakfast or lunch. Or rent a sun lounger, and spend your days on the beach in extra relaxation.
Explore the beach, the dunes and the cities
There is always something going on at the beach. Like going beach sailing, power kiting, surfing, or you can step into a kayak at the North Pier and brave the waves. In the dunes you can discover bunkers in various spots, part of the fortress of IJmuiden. There is also plenty to do behind the dunes. There are several restaurants located in the cosy Wijk aan Zee. You can also rent bicycles to explore the area. Would you like to visit the big city? You can drive to Amsterdam, Haarlem or Alkmaar by car in about half an hour. National Park Zuid-Kennemerland near Bloemendaal is a beautiful nature reserve for walking. But it's also great just staying at your beach house with a book. In the evening, you will be treated to a sunset and see the stars in the sky. Enjoy!
