Get some fresh air, build sandcastles with the kids or read a relaxing book in the sun. After a lovely day at the beach, you can enjoy a snack and a drink in one of the beach pavilions. Hollum Beach has the international Blue Flag environmental award. The bathing water is of excellent quality and the sandy beach is kept very clean.
Hollum Beach
Ameland's red and white lighthouse immediately catches the eye. This 55-metre-high lighthouse has not been used by the coast guard since 2005, but it is still used as an exhibition space. You can visit the lighthouse for a beautiful view of the island.

Walking to Hollum beach, you pass through a beautiful nature area with dunes and woods. In the Hollumerbos, you will find several playgrounds, a duck pond and a small gnome village. After a nice walk through the woods and dunes, you will be treated to beautiful views over the beach and the North Sea.
