Hollum Beach has the international Blue Flag environmental award. The bathing water is of excellent quality and the sandy beach is kept very clean.

Ameland's red and white lighthouse immediately catches the eye. This 55-metre-high lighthouse has not been used by the coast guard since 2005, but it is still used as an exhibition space. You can visit the lighthouse for a beautiful view of the island.

9 holes in the heart of the Ameland nature
Golfing in the rolling Ameland dune landscape makes for the ideal combination of that holiday feeling while fitting in some healthy exercise. Between the holes you will enjoy beautiful views. Use the lighthouse as a target, and scour the area for a deer. Besides the 9 hole golf course, there is a PAR 3 golf course, where pitch & putt can also be played. The PAR 3 golf course is open to everyone. Perfect for getting acquainted with golf during your holiday.

Walking to Hollum beach, you pass through a beautiful nature area with dunes and woods. In the Hollumerbos, you will find several playgrounds, a duck pond and a small gnome village. Many rescue operations, often with danger to the rescuer’s own life, as well as limited means, are pictured here. Also the former horse rescue boat “Abraham Fock” is shown at the maritime centre.
