Many plant and animal species have found their place in this diverse area. The expanse of sea and beach, the seclusion of forests and the vast dunes make the Dunes of Texel National Park a beautiful area to visit and a valuable area to protect.

Climb Texel's iconic red lighthouse. A spiral staircase takes you up all six floors of the tower. All the way to the top, you are at 47 metres high! The Texel Lighthouse is the only lighthouse in the Netherlands where you can look out over the sea on three sides.

Ecomare is a natural history museum, a seal sanctuary, an aquarium and a bird sanctuary. Ecomare is located in the National Park 'Dunes of Texel'. This is the centre for the Wadden Sea and North Sea on Texel. You can all learn about the different animals, the nature on Texel, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea and about the influence of man in this area.

For anyone who wishes to know more about the fascinating history of the Royal Netherlands Navy the Naval Museum is just the place to go. In the permantent exhibition the visitor can follow the development of the naval vessel, be introduced to various naval heroes.

The biggest Kart Circuit of Texel is 525 m long and 7 m wide. During the summer season, part of this go-kart circuit is designed as a children's go-kart track (8 - 12 year). A shrimp cutter will take you up the Wadden Sea to fish shrimp. The shrimp are cooked on board and you can taste them right then and there. During the two hour tour you will be told about all manner of life that lives in the Wadden Sea. On the way back the boat will pass places known for seals to be resting there. Giving you a chance to snap some unique photos!
